On Saturday, 26th October Sharon convinced us that a Jungle Hike was essential to get a real taste of the Jungle. We went to “la Montagne Trésor” which is a famous botanical hike a couple of hours away from Kourou. There were plenty of new experiences for us all with tales of “gold in these hills” and “you are being watched in the jungle by many eyes”. It was a truly epic experience and even the smell of the Jungle was amazing. On the way to Montjoly for lunch the team even cleared the road of branches that had fallen blocking the highway. Francois from Freelance was very knowledgable about the area and a great guide looking out for the ever present dangers in the Jungle.
