Friday 1st November is a national holiday in France so the team took advantage of this to arrange a team day at a Carbet (private rectangular structure used by groups for recreation) next to the Kourou River. Some cycled to the venue and we all hiked up the challenging 5km trail at Monkey Mountain (separate post) then headed back to the Carbet to recover and enjoy a wonderful Paella thanks to Ramón and his helpers. Federico did the honours with the Caipi’s and everyone enjoyed the beautiful views and background guitar music. We met a friendly Sloth who joined us in the water but soon got out when he saw the competition. A fabulous day which was made complete with more songs and drinks back at the Hotel.
