AIS Installation

On Thursday, 24th October the Automated Identification System (AIS) Antennas were fully installed onto the S1C Spacecraft. These are the box shaped structures of which there are four at either corner of the SAR Central Panel. They had to be removed for transportation to prevent any risk of damage to the Antennas. These Antennas form part of the AIS Instrument which is used to identify ships which are seen as white dots in the SAR image. Now they are fully remounted and tested so that functional testing can continue at Spacecraft level.
